Final California Fourth UI Extension Update:
On Wednesday, December 16th, I received a claim form for the weeks of November 8th-21st. I was instructed to fill them out, and that a check was on its way. If I had secured permanent, full-time work and was earning income, the letter read, then I was to return my check.
Today (Thursday, December 17th, 2009) I received a check in the mail from CA EDD. The State is sending us checks BEFORE our claim forms in an unprecedented move to catch up on backed up claims due to the failure of their archaic computer system. The State is retroactively sending out checks starting on November 8th.
So if your claim ran out BEFORE November 8th, and you’ve been waiting until now with no money like me, then you will receive 3 checks in a row to catch you up to the current date and claim filing period.
It’s pretty awesome.
The State has gotten its act together. The computer system is updated, and in force. And our checks have been mailed and are being paid out. Good luck to all!
