Carrie Prejean: Just Another Dumb Broad
I call it the “Sarah Palin Effect.” When a beautiful woman is given publicity, attention and fame despite her lack of intelligence, contributions to society, and moral character.
It applies to such women as Heidi Montag (famous for being on “The Hills”), Elizabeth Hasselbeck, (famous for being on “Survivor”), Paris Hilton (famous for having a sex tape), The Kardashians (famous for having a high-profile attorney for a father, and a former Olympian as a step-father) and Carrie Prejean (famous for posing nude, having a sex tape and losing her “Miss America” title.)
There are plenty more examples where this came from. And let me make one thing clear: I am not a misogynist. I love women. I respect women. I would love to see a female President, and I think this country will not truly be “equal” until women make as much as men in the workplace.
That being said, I’m sick of pretty faces being on television, magazines, radio and other forms of media for no other reason than being attractive. It represents a huge part of why the rest of the world lacks respect for America, and why pop culture can be such a shallow, materialistic and disgusting machine.
Case-in-point: Carrie Prejean walking off “Larry King Live” because she doesn’t understand basic law (see: the law regarding confidentiality regarding settlements between two or more parties.)
She’s not only a disgrace to the Great State of California, but an embarrassment to the fine City of San Diego.
